Butcher Box’s pork chops are something else. These things had to be 2 to 2 1/2 inches thick. Talk about a lot of pork chop. These bad boys come 2 in a pack. I would think that is all you need. Two sides to go with it and you have yourself a full course meal. Beyond the size of these things, they were really tender. I don’t know about you, but I’m not a big fan of tough pork chops. They were also extremely juicy. Cutting into them, the juices would just ooze out of them creating a wonderful flavor. You would think for as thick as they are, they would be really dry. That also depends on how you cook them as well.
I ended up cooking them in a pan on medium to low heat. I used all kinds of different seasonings including cayenne pepper and garlic powder inspired by Wholesome Yum. Since it used all kinds of seasoning, you have to be careful not to burn them so flipping often is necessary. I would say a chop this thick would take about 9 minutes on each side, and when I say each side, stand the chop on its side (if you can). However, you will have to slice the chop open and check periodically. You will want to look for clear liquid. If you still see blood, keep cooking. Before placing the pork chops into the pan, pour some oil in there and waiting until you start to see white smoke. You will be placing the pork chops on some extremely hot oil.
If you love to eat pork chops, I recommend picking up some and at least give them a try. If you read this far, thank you! For reading this far, I’m going to give you ground beef for life as well as $30 off from Butcher Box! I know, it is ground beef, but hey, it is for life 🙂.
