WOW! I do not think that I will ever eat hamburger helper from a box again. The Pioneer Woman delivered a home run with this ‘Must-Try’ hamburger helper recipe. This recipe smacks your taste buds with a burst of flavor in every bite. It was moist, no dryness, even when reheated. The bacon added a delicious flavor to it, yes, I said bacon. All the ingredients, you probably already have them in your refrigerator and pantry. I am not going to list the amounts as you can find them on The Pioneer Woman‘s website. You will need:

  • Ground beef
  • Bacon
  • Yellow Onion
  • Garlic Cloves
  • Beef Broth
  • Tomato Sauce
  • Heavy Cream
  • Paprika
  • Hot Sauce
  • Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • Elbow Macaroni
  • Cheddar Cheese
  • Yellow American Cheese
  • Green Onion or Parsley

You do not have to follow this fully, for example, I did not have heavy cream, nor did I feel like making it, so I opted to use milk instead. I also did not use any green onion or parsley as that is for garnish. Also, the recipe calls to use a Dutch oven to make this, a one pot dish, but I used two. A pot to cook my noodles and pan to make everything else. It still turned out delicious. Another good thing about this recipe is that it only takes about 30 to 40 minutes from start to finish, A good dinner choice for a week day.

If you looking for a quick, delicious, dinner meal, I highly recommend this homemade hamburger helper. It is definitely a must-try hamburger helper recipe. Safe to say, this is the best hamburger helper I have had to date. I will be making this again and I think I’m going to add in some chopped jalapenos to the mix!
