If you’re eating your way through Hohenwald, Los Hermanos Hohenwald is one of the better options in town. It’s the classic small-town Mexican spot, but it does a few things better than expected, especially the seafood. Here’s the real breakdown of our visit.
Atmosphere: Classic Small-Town Mexican Energy
Los Hermanos sits in a corner building and looks exactly like you’d expect a local Mexican restaurant to look. Bright colors. Simple decor. Comfortable layout. Not crowded when we went, which was nice.
Service was on point. Friendly, attentive, and checked in at the right times without hovering. Exactly what you want from a casual spot.
Los Hermanos Hohenwald Review: Basic Chips, Really Good Salsa

Chips were standard. Nothing special.
The salsa, though, was legit. Not spicy, just clean and flavorful. One of the better salsas in town, easily.
Los Hermanos Hohenwald Review: The Food: Huge Portions and Better-Than-Expected Seafood
My Burrito Plate
I ordered the burrito and it was solid. Flavorful, filling, and big enough that I didn’t leave hungry. Not over-the-top or packed with unique flavors, but definitely good enough that I’d order it again. The only real downside is the flavor profile. It was there, just not bold or “slap you in the face” like some burritos can be. Still good, just milder than I expected.

My Girlfriend’s Snow Crab
She ordered the snow crab legs, which was interesting for a Mexican restaurant in a small Tennessee town. Yeah, I know…
Here’s the real deal:
- The crab was small for $26
- Not whole crab legs
- But the garlic butter? Surprisingly delicious
- Good enough that it saved the plate
- It was cooked correctly. Not over/under cooked.
Would she get it again? Probably.
It was better than expected, especially for the location.
Menu Variety: A Lot to Choose From
Los Hermanos has a huge menu for a small-town spot:

- shrimp
- oysters
- crab
- chicken
- steak
- burritos
- tacos
- salads
It’s one of those places where everyone can find something, and the seafood selection is surprisingly large. The menus themselves were surprisingly high quality. Hard to describe, but they felt better than most places I’ve eaten so far. A restaurant doesn’t invest in menus like that unless they’re trying to deliver great food. They’re not quite there yet, but they’re damn close.

Price: Fair for the Portions
We paid $51 total for:
- snow crab
- burrito
- two drinks
- complimentary chips and salsa
For two people leaving absolutely full? Fair.
Especially considering the amount of food.
Los Hermanos Hohenwald Review: Would We Eat Here Again?
Yes.
Los Hermanos isn’t trying to be anything fancy, it’s just a solid, reliable, well-priced meal with friendly service. And for Hohenwald, that’s exactly what you want.
Final Thoughts
Los Hermanos is exactly what a small-town Mexican spot should be. Good food, fair prices, friendly service, and portions that actually fill you up. It’s not perfect, but it doesn’t have to be. If you want solid seafood without driving to Columbia or Nashville, or you just want a reliable Mexican dinner in Hohenwald, it gets the job done. We’ll be back, and if you live anywhere near here, it’s worth giving a shot.
